Creative Design

Besides my Illustrative studies, I have a passion for Branding and Creative Direction. Things like creating a magazine cover from scratch, to making promotional ads for a sports brand— where I’m constantly fascinated by the advertising deliverables!

Live Band - Creative Direction

Discovered this band while on a trip in Scotland, I felt deeply connected to the lively songs of scottish people. The band not only played traditional songs but also contemporary rock pieces that are their own. Returned from this trip filled with ideas about posters, by using the photos I took and my type knowledge. I created these images with a desire to gather more fans across the world.

Promotional Film Poster

I was approached by my film friend to take some behind the scenes footage for her student film, then got invited to do the final poster for the film as well. So that’s how it got started.

I then started drafting possibilities of what it could be and get to know the director’s vision more precicely. After many versions, this is the final result.

Creative Campaign: Women’s Wellness Collection

For this NIKE Women's campaign, I developed a creative vision encompassing both photography and typography. Ideally, a diverse cast of models will be chosen to embody the collection's focus on celebrating a range of body types and fostering a sense of well-being and body connection. I then produced the photoshoot and followed with photo editing, along with the design of the typographic elements. This project was a fulfilling exploration of empowering women to embrace their bodies and pursue their passions.

LACMA Artist Exhibition Design

I had the pleasure of making this my final design for my Communication Design Class. We were told to use AI to support and create images for us to use as graphic designers, so I created this fake artist: Christine Harper — Who happens to have an ‘exhibition’ coming up in collab with LACMA.

Brand Identity: Velvet Haus in Berlin, Germany

Velvet Haus is a fashion project inspired by Berlin's street style. It fuses the classic Chinese Qipao dress with edgy modern pieces, creating a look that bridges cultures and celebrates tradition alongside rebellion.

Vinyl Cover Design

DPR: Dear Insanity

This piece explores the genre-bending sounds of DPR Ian's "Dear Insanity" album. Acrylic paintings and digital collages capture the music's contrasting and adventurous energy through vibrant colors and a mashup style.

DPR stands for “Dream Perfect Regime”. This label isn't quite a music company in the traditional sense. It's a multi-genre music and video group based in Seoul. They create, direct, and produce their own music and visuals, often blurring the lines between genres.

Book Design - In the Vast

A Secret World Project:

For this cover, I wanted to do something more sentimental and close to my heart. My uplifting journey with my immigrant identities. I chose symbolic & popular snacks from China & America, and then hand tore them to pieces and re-assembled them in digital format to form this effect (very handmade process!) The colors portrayed on the book are nostalgic and cold tones, a feeling I cannot put into simple words. A sense of belonging and not belonging in a place I call home.
